Ken Chad Consulting Ltd are committed to ensuring the security and protection of the personal information that we process, and to provide a compliant and consistent approach to data protection. We recognise and take very seriously our obligations to meet the demands of the GDPR Ken Chad Consulting Ltd are dedicated to safeguarding the personal information under our remit and in developing a data protection regime that is effective, fit for purpose and demonstrates an understanding of, and appreciation for the GDPR Regulation. Our GDPR compliance has been summarised in our GDPR statement.
We are small (micro) business that holds very limited amounts of personal data. Much of that is simply identification information -name, emails etc- that is already in the public domain. This means our audit and policies and procedures have been relatively straightforward to implement. We do not have even tens of staff with access to systems and files across multiple devices. Ken gained his Masters Degree from the Information Science Department at City University in London. He is also an alumnus of the Warwick University Business School Business Innovation and Growth Programme. He has over 20 years software business experience and has worked at Executive Director/Board level.  His customers included a wide range of academic, research, college, public, corporate and national libraries in the UK and throughout the world. His consulting activities include work for businesses, academic institutions, local authorities, sector bodies such as  Jisc, SCONUL (Society of College, National and University Libraries) and government (DCMS). He has published and presented widely on the strategic impact of technology-driven change, library technology, research systems and ebooks. Ken is a member (MCLIP) of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals  (CILIP) and the American Library Association (ALA). He is an Advisory Board member for the new open access journal Studies in Arts and Humanities . Past pro bono activities included being a committee member of the NISO Open Discovery Initiative (ODI) and UKSG which ‘exists to connect the information community and encourage the exchange of ideas on scholarly communication’. He set up and manages a number of free, open community resources including Higher Education Library Technology (HELibTech), Local Government Library Technology (LGLibTech) and Open Specifications for Library Systems (LibTechRFP).
